Looking back
I have learnt that knowing yourself is the first step to finding out what you want to become in life. Over the course of the semester, I have come to see that self love is the single most important thing that will help you to figure out what you want to become in life. After reading my blog entries over the entire semester, I feel as though I have learnt something so valuable and different that I had never known before. At the beginning of the semester I was a bit skeptical as to how a class can do so much in a period of one semester. As I read my blog I saw that it was not about doing so much but getting the opportunity to understand the concept and general idea of the class and applying it to our everyday lives even after the class is over. I know that my planning wall is going to help me way past this semester and knowing that I have more faith in myself. I believe my future is going to be exciting, as I am no longer afraid to think of the years I would spend in school trying to become a doctor, rather I look forward to those years with much curiosity and excitement. I am proud to tell people that I want to be a model and with this newly acquired confidence, I hope that I am able to accomplish everything I aspire to be. The three things I liked the most about the class were the movies, the success teams and the readings. The thing I liked the least about the class was having to read four different books simultaneously. This class was very helpful and i do not regret taking this course!

buddy meeting
As Barbara Sher suggested I had a business meeting with bouba on wednesday.
For about the first 5 mins, each of us talkedabout the steps we took in the past week and also those we didn't take. For instance bouba was able to investigate more about student organizations and even found a very interesting one that he plans to join. We also talked about following our planning wall and how we can complete it by adding more steps.
After we talked about ways to accomplished our steps. We gave each other suggestions and encouragements . I gave him a number of a med school student that he plans to contact for maybe an interview. We also talked about registering for classes for the spring semester.
At the end of our business meeting we talked about our plans for next week which is figuring out what classes to take that would put us one step closer to med school!

next step
My next step on my planning wall was to follow up on my applictions to the hospitals i intended to volunteer in and to study for my upcoming exams. I did call the hospitals and they both confirmed that they had received my application, but i hasnt been processed yet. So now i just have to wait and call back in a couple of weeks to check if it has been processed. The planning wall has been sucessful so far in keeping me in check on what i need to do next and being able to complete the tasks on time.

FAILURe :(
Whenever anybody would ask me the question; what is your biggest fear? the first thing that pop to my mind would be failure. I have never really understod why failure was my biggest fear, but now that i think about it, I believe it was just the easiest answer for me to come up with. Granted everyone in some way is afraid to fail but i think what i fear the most is disappointing myself by not achieving my dreams and goals. My biggest dream is to become a medical doctor and it can e overwhelming sometimes the number of years it is going to take me to get to that goal. The way i could use to get around it would be to surround myself with positive people and to keep pushing myself towards my goal, regardless of whatever fears i may encounter on the way.
My next step for my short term goal which is modeling, was to take pictures for my portfolio. Eventhough I did contact the photographer for the pictures, the cost was a little bit too much for me to come up with right now. So, i improvised by having my friend, who is a photographer take pictures for me. Although they werent proffesional modeling pictures, it felt good to atleast practice the poses and see hoe i photographed and what needed improvement. Also, Practicce makes perfect!

The last Doctor I interviewed was an OB/GYN. This interview i learnt the most because it was a lot closer to my choice of specialization which is Pediatrics. His says getting through the first year of medical school would be the hardest thing I would have to face. If I could get thriough my first year then i could get through the next six or seven years of training to be a medical doctor. His biggest advice to me was to surround myself with supporters that would cheer me on even when i dont pull through all the way. That reminded me of sher's cheer person's assignment. Overall the interviews were a sucess and i hope that they would lead me towards the right directions so that i could also achieve my dreams and goals in the future.
Another doctor i interviewed was a General practitioner, and it was interesting to me because he told me that his job was the most fun place to be in and that was the only reason why he came in to work every single morning. He was only motivated by the patients and their spirits even when they were down. He loved being a general doctor because he loved the fact that he received and treated all kinds of patients old and young! One of his main advice was to find a a job that not only suits me and paid the bills, but also one that i would have fun doing every single day!
